This
page is designed to show you alternate colorways and layouts
of various PineTree Lodge patterns. This is to help you see
the multitudes of options that are available. It isn't always
easy to visualize the cover quilt in different colors. Since
there are so many thousands of wonderful fabrics in our favorite
quilt shops, it's fun to see the variations that can be done
with them.

TuttiFrutti,
#309 - Black Magic
Although TuttiFrutti is recommended
for Bright Colors, see how rich and elegant it looks when
monochromatic colors are used - even black!
Block A is used in a layout that isn't in the
pattern, but is shown below.

Cross
My Heart, #208 - Bonus Project
Although this quilt isn't pictured on
the pattern cover, it is a bonus project included in "Cross
My Heart, #208. I fell in love with the Tiffany-looking
border fabric and think it looks great in this quilt.
There is also a tablerunner in this layout. |

Flannel
Flinders, Too #210
Although I originally made this for a
5 year boy, I have since learned that teenagers love these
bright colors also. This would make a great college dorm quilt
or graduation gift. |

Flannel
Flinders, Too #210
Need a baby quilt in a hurry? This one only needs 9 fat quarters,
1 yd. of background and a backing. You can whip this one up
in a weekend; a day if you're really speedy. |

Gather all your leftover florals and throw them together to
create a lovely garden. These fabrics were especially pleasant
to work with in January when the windchill is below zero.
They satisfy a northerners lust for spring when the snow is
flying! |

Iowa
Journey, #212
I love red and tan and made this one with completely out of
my stash. Scrap quilts are a great way to utilize "old"
pieces blended with newer fabrics and they look great together.
There's always a need to use up old to make way for new! |

CrossRoads,
#307
Thank you Linda Hohag, fabric designer and creator of Brandywine
Designs books and patterns for the use of your fabric. This
lap quilt is planned, rather than scrapped as the pattern
cover quilt shows. It's truly beautiful in Linda's Coventry
Garden line of fabric from P&B Textiles. |

The black and red make a dramatic statement with one of the
pattern's alternate layouts. Note; there are multiple layouts
shown in the pattern in addition to the one shown on the pattern
cover.
This is an example of what to do with any leftovers - in this
case, I purchased a black and white fat quarter bundle to
acquire more blacks. Since I didn't need the whites and had
more blacks than needed, they created a wonderful back when
used with some leftover red. |

CobbleStone
Court , #226
This one's for me! I love the warm
cabin prints against the black. Although the pattern suggests
using leftovers to create a scrap binding, I thought that
black binding would be more dramatic.

Hugs
& Kisses, #306
This quilt was created to participate in a black and white
challenge held within my local quilt guild. We were required
to use only black and white plus one additional color. This
pattern requires fat quarters. Since some of my pieces were
half yards, I had lots of leftovers so I randomly sewed them
together to make a fabulous quilt back. |

Hugs

This pattern looks comforting when made with warm, woodsy
prints.

Although
the pattern recommends using flannels for the Raggedy option,
it really works just as well with non-flannels.

Sunshine
& Shadows, #308
(...in the Forest)
Within this pattern, there are half size options for the flowers
and pinetrees to create a wall hanging and tablerunner. Both
of these projects use the same line of Christmas fabric from
Benartex. Once they're quilted, the tablerunner will have a
scrap binding and the wall quilt binding will be red. |

PitterPatter,

This model shows how the design will look if all the zigzags
are framed by one fabric as if it's a background. It really
showcases the zigzags.

Is Where The Heart Is #131
This pattern has a 19" square
size included. It makes a lovely housewarming or wedding gift,
especially when personalized with names and dates. You can
"build" the house to match the one of the recipients.
It also can be made to reflect the seasons or holidays. Note,
the Halloween and Christmas ones have "fussy cut"
figures in the doorway and window. The ground below the house
also reflects the time of year: snow, flowers, leaves, grass.

Cool
Pines, #119
For my daughter's sixteenth birthday, she requested a flannel
lap quilt from this pattern, in pink. Pink trees?! Once
I found the border fabric, the rest was easy. About the
time I finished piecing the six blocks needed for lap size,
she changed her mind and asked me to make it bed size. It
took me weeks of phone calls and miles to find more of the
fabrics needed. To be sure that I wouldn't run short, I
bought lots!! In fact, I had so much leftover, I decided
to piece the back and made the double size tree for the
middle. She loves it.
